A Karachi service business and an online clothing store should not start with the same budget simply because both sell in Pakistan. Their search demand, margins, buying cycles and conversion paths differ. A useful test is designed to answer a specific commercial question, such as whether one service can attract qualified enquiries at an affordable cost.
Start with the outcome you can afford
To discuss a plan around your offer, audience and available resources, contact HuzDigital.
Define a qualified lead before choosing a daily amount. For a service business, this might mean a person in the supported area who needs the advertised service and has a realistic budget. A wrong number, supplier pitch or job application should not count as the same outcome.
Work backwards from customer economics. Suppose you are willing to spend PKR 12,000 to acquire a customer and expect one in four qualified leads to become a customer. Your planning ceiling is PKR 3,000 per qualified lead. These figures are illustrative assumptions, not Pakistani market benchmarks or HuzDigital results.
The calculation is straightforward: allowable customer acquisition cost multiplied by the qualified lead closing rate equals allowable cost per qualified lead. Use contribution after fulfilment costs when deciding what you can afford. Revenue alone can make an unprofitable campaign look attractive.
Build a budget from explicit assumptions
Research likely click costs for the actual location and keywords in the advertising account. Replace any example below with current estimates and then with observed campaign data. Forecasts describe possibilities, not guaranteed traffic or enquiries.
| Planning input | Illustrative value | Calculation or meaning |
| Advertising spend | PKR 30,000 | Media only |
| Average click cost | PKR 150 | Assumption to validate |
| Clicks | 200 | 30,000 divided by 150 |
| Enquiry conversion rate | 5% | 10 enquiries from 200 clicks |
| Qualified share | 60% | 6 qualified leads |
| Cost per qualified lead | PKR 5,000 | 30,000 divided by 6 |
This scenario misses the PKR 3,000 lead target even though the campaign generates enquiries. To reach that target, the business would need a better combination of click cost, enquiry conversion and lead quality. Raising the budget without changing that combination would mainly buy more of the same economics.
Understand daily spending before launch
Google describes an average daily budget rather than a fixed daily bill. For most campaigns, the daily spending limit can be twice the average daily budget, while the usual monthly limit is 30.4 times that budget. Changes to budgets and campaign types can affect how limits apply. Check the account’s current spending settings before launch. [1]
For illustration, PKR 1,000 per day corresponds to PKR 30,400 under the usual monthly calculation when the budget remains unchanged. Keep a buffer for the complete project cost, including creative production, tracking setup and any applicable billing charges. Do not present an agency fee as though it were advertising credit.
Narrow the experiment before increasing spend
Choose one offer, a manageable service area and a clear destination page. A campaign covering every service and city can spread a small budget across unrelated decisions. You may finish the month with plenty of activity but little evidence about any individual offer.
Check that the ad promise matches the page. If the ad offers commercial office cleaning, the landing page should explain that service, coverage, quoting process and next step. A general homepage may force visitors to find the answer themselves.
Keep a change log. Record major edits to bidding, targeting, copy and the landing page. This makes it easier to interpret a performance shift without inventing a cause. Avoid changing everything after one quiet afternoon.
Decide whether to continue or revise
Review tracking and lead quality early. Evaluate commercial performance after allowing for the normal buying cycle and enough relevant activity to inform the decision. Ten enquiries can reveal obvious quality problems, but they rarely establish a dependable long-term conversion rate.
Pause or constrain spend if tracking is broken, the service cannot fulfil demand, or enquiries consistently fall outside the offer. If useful leads arrive but the page converts poorly, improve the page before expanding targeting. Scale gradually when lead quality, sales follow-up and acquisition costs support the decision.
Frequently asked questions
Is PKR 30,000 enough for Google Ads
It can fund a limited test in some markets, but it is not a universal recommendation. High click costs or low conversion rates may make that amount insufficient to learn much.
Should I split a small budget across several cities
Only if the business serves them and the test can generate useful evidence in each. Starting with one commercially important area can make interpretation simpler.
Does a bigger budget improve lead quality
A bigger budget increases spending capacity. Quality still depends on intent, targeting, the offer, the landing page and qualification.
